Thank you everyone for coming,
As we gather to celebrate my husband XXXXXXX’s twenty-sixth celebration of his forty-ninth birthday, I would like to wish you all a safe happy holiday season with your families and friends. I choose to express my husband’s age this way because in my mind he is young at heart and might live to 100. He is a very special man and a husband that I am so blessed to have. I feel a special warmth as I think of all the ways I can express my feelings about the most important man in my life.
Before I speak about my dear husband and propose a toast to him on his special day, I would like to read this wonderful quote by Leo Buscaglia about the timeless nature of true love. (Pause)
“Love can never grow old. Locks may lose their brown and gold. Cheeks may fade and hollow grow. But the hearts that love will know, never winter's frost and chill, summer's warmth is in them still.”
This toast will be my message to him expressing my gratitude for what he has done and how his patience and understanding has captured my heart.
We can raise our glasses as I address my words to XXXXXX on his birthday;
“XXXXXX I thank you for being the most loving husband any woman could ever hope for and a friend who has stood by me and encouraged me every step of the way as a true friend for 35 years, and a wonderful husband for 25 of those years. You have taken heat for robbing the cradle, but after my friends and I stalked you, I am eternally grateful that I caught up with you. There were dark days along the way, but we never let anger linger in our hearts. God has more plans for you, and you have His love and mine.
Happy Birthday with Love
